The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) is seeking nominations for appointment as members of the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections (SACHRP). SACHRP provides advice related to responsible conduct or research involving human subjects, particularly special populations such as infants and children, inmates, the decisionally impaired, pregnant women, and fetuses. Additionally, the committee reviews and evaluates ongoing work and planned activities of the OHRP and any other offices or agencies involved in human subject protections.
The OHRP is seeking to fill three positions and nominations are being sought from, but not limited to, the following fields: public health and medicine, behavioral and social sciences, health administration, and biomedical ethics. Nominees must also demonstrate experience and expertise in the disciplines and fields related to human subjects protection and/or clinical research.
Nominations can be made by email to SACHRP@hhs.gov and are due Oct. 24, 2019.
