Summary
Effective January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2016, directs the Secretary of HHS to establish an 8-state Medicaid demonstration project to evaluate the use of bundled payments to hospitals and physicians for the provision of integrated care. Among other things, requires that the demonstration focus on conditions for which there is evidence of an opportunity for providers to improve the quality of care and reduce total Medicaid expenditures. Directs states to provide data to HHS to inform the Department’s report to Congress evaluating the program that is due by December 31, 2017.
