Summary
Directs the Secretary of HHS to develop a national health care fraud and abuse data collection program for the reporting of certain final adverse actions (not including settlements in which no findings of liability have been made) against providers, practitioners, and suppliers. Requires that such information be provided to the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) at which point such information is available to certain agencies, authorities, and officials. Effective March 23, 2010, requires HHS to implement a transition process to transfer all data collected in the Healthcare
Integrity and Protection Data Bank (HIPDB) to the NPDB.
