Implementation Status
The therapy caps exceptions process was extended through 2013 by section 6003 of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 (ATRA).
P.L. 113-93, the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014 (i.e., the “doc fix”), which was signed into law on April 1, contains a provision at section 103 that extends the Medicare therapy caps exceptions process through March 31, 2015.

SEC. 3103. EXTENSION OF EXCEPTIONS PROCESS FOR MEDICARE THERAPY CAPS. Section 1833(g)(5) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395l(g)(5)) is amended by striking ‘‘December 31, 2009’’ and inserting ‘‘December 31, 2010’’.
