Summary
As revised by section 10402(a) of the Senate Manager’s Amendment, requires HHS to establish a grant program that supports school-based health centers (SBHCs) with preference given to those SBHCs serving a large population of children eligible for Medicaid or CHIP.
Stipulates that, of the $50 million FY 2010-2013 appropriation, such funds may only be used for expenditures for facilities, equipment, or similar expenditures and that no grant funds may be used to fund the personnel or to provide health services. Also authorizes over the FY 2010-2014 period (but does not appropriate) grants for the operation of SBHCs (with a 20% matching requirement). Specifies the physical (including oral and vision health) and mental health services with respect to the core services that must be provided by SBHCs funded via operation grants.
