Summary
As maternal mortality and morbidity in the United States continues to be the highest among industrialized nations and disparities are stark with Black women more than three times as likely to die from pregnancy-related causes as white women, Congress and the Biden-Harris Administration have worked on a range of maternal health legislation and regulatory efforts. The attached issue brief provides a roundup of recent policy updates as they pertain to maternal health. It also includes actionable opportunities including one that closes on December 8, 2022.
